Algonquin Day Trip
August 26, 2017Hiked Track and Tower (almost 7.2km) in the pouring rain with paths filled with ankle-high puddles or deep mud. There were even a few parts where we had to cross a fast moving stream that covered the trail with only a few rocks sticking out. As we reached the look out point of the hike, the rain magically stopped and we were graced with this view. we even busted out the Aeropress and Jetboil and had a cup of coffee here. This hike was definitely a lot more difficult with the rain and a few people would call us crazy for doing it but it was totally worth it.
We decided to finish the day with a quick hike of Lookout Trail which is 2.1km long. There wasn’t too much of an amazing sunset, but it was a great way to sit back and relax.
On our way back to Toronto, we could see the stars in the sky and we decided to drive onto a side road and shoot the stars. Long and behold, we could see the Milky Way! I think we really lucked out since it was right after the New Moon, so it was only stars in the sky.
This was definitely one of the best trips of the summer. Can’t wait to do more of these next year.
